It was during a visit to one of Singapore’s underwater aquariums that I chanced upon this creepy fish….

That’s a lionfish. Their spines are venomous, and so has few enemies. It east smaller fish, so I guess you could say it’s cannibalistic. Lionfish venom can cause systemic effects such as extreme pain, nausea, vomiting, fever, breathing difficulties, convulsions, dizziness, redness on the affected area, headache, numbness, paresthesia (pins and needles), heartburn, diarrhea, and sweating. So, if you see one while swimming in the south Pacific, you might want to leave it alone. 🙂
